Iris Cantor has been a significant force in setting the agenda for women's health services in the United States. Her intense personal interest in women's health began when her sister died of breast cancer. Since then, her vision has inspired numerous women's healthcare initiatives across the country.
In New York City, Mrs. Cantor's longstanding commitment and philanthropy includes having served on governance committees at the NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center for over two decades. She currently serves on NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Board of Trustees; she spearheaded the formation of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Executive Committee of The Lying-In Hospital; and she has been an active member of the Women's Health Symposium Steering Committee.
The Iris Cantor Women's Health Center at 425 East 61st Street represents her vision to combine comprehensive and compassionate medical services for women of all ages. Through this Center, Iris Cantor's dream of raising the level of healthcare for women to a new standard of excellence is being fulfilled.
